Tri-County Quilt Tour 2010

I haven't posted in a while since we had some family medical emergencies to work through but luckily everyone is ok. And then trying to catch up. I just returned from doing the Tri-County Quilt Tour. There were 15 shops and the theme was SMOOTH SAILING. Needless to say everyone is sooooo talented and creative. You get to go to each shop and get a free pattern and see the quilts they made with all the blocks. If you want to see some of the designs then look to the links I have included. You will be amazed at the design from Fabric-Etc. She always does something so different.

Anyway, had a great time and wonderful weather. Bought lots of cool fabric. I wish I now had a week to just sew. It always gets my creative juices flowing and unfortunately life doesn't stand still for us to quilt or sew. Maybe next year I will take a week of from work after the Quilt Tour or the PNW Shop Hop. I might have to think about that some more.

Have a great day!

Till next time,
M

Potholders finished

I finished the 2 potholders for the potholder swap I joined. I sent them to Erica in North Dakota yesterday. I will wait a couple of days before I post a picture of them so I can make sure she gets them first and sees them. I wouldn't want her to see them here first by chance she happens to browse to this blog. :o)

It wasn't hard to make the pothholders once I had a pattern in mind. That was the hardest part. Picking the pattern. We were given the recipients color choice and Erica's was Navy Blue and Tan. I wanted to do a circular one and a coordinating square one. I thought they turned out pretty good and I really enjoyed a nice, quick project since I mostly make queen size quilts.

I posted a link to the sidebar for the potholder swap in case you want to join the next one in a couple of months.

I will add pictures next week of the potholder.

Have a great day!

Strings Attached Challenge

I also have joined a strings attached challenge coordinated by Loft Creations (see link on sidebar). I now have to make a quilt using my scrap strings. I am looking forward to getting rid of some of my huge pile of scrap material. This should be really fun and quite a challenge. I will post pictures once I have decided what I am going to do and start the project.

New adventure

I just joined a potholder swap. I am really looking forward to it. I have to make 2 either identical or cordinating 7-8 inch potholders. My swap partner likes the colors tan and blue. I said Orange since that was the first color that popped into my head for this swap. I like all colors so I choose something different. My swap partner is from North Dakota and I am from Washington so this will be interesting.

I am still trying to decide what pattern to do for the potholders. I am also trying to figure out how to link that blog to mine. I will have to look into that tomorrow as it is time to go to bed. Good night.
